I’ve finally gotten some proper photos of the newest pieces added to my shop. Thanks Kelli!
Taking a trip to Brooklyn for the Renegade Craft Fair couldn’t have been more perfect. We went into Manhattan for the Natural History Museum (gem and mineral exhibit was my favorite), Central Park and Shake Shack, Tenement Museum and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge like the tourists that we were. That was all truly awesome but the fair itself and being in Brooklyn with friends was the best. My friend Chelsea we stayed with is the pastry chef of a local ice cream shop and starting each day with her freshly baked goods was a dream come true. She brought coffee and fresh brioche donuts with lavender sugar to the fair. The look on my face is one of true happiness.
I know the photos themselves are nothing special, having forgotten my battery in my camera charger at home I was left with my iphone. AND, having smashed the screen on the first day of the fair during the rainstorm taking photos on a cracked screen is difficult.
The Renegade Craft Fair is in Brooklyn June 11th + 12th. Shipping will be on hold from Tuesday June 7th until Wednesday June 15th.
See Renegadecraft.com for dates and info.
I’ve just joined Pinterest and it’s been ridiculously fun seeing other people’s style in this sort of grouping. Finding the I’m Remembering page has been the best by far. I got all choked up seeing the Fashion Plates reminiscing about the weeks off school spent playing at my Grandma’s. It doesn’t get any better.
A sneak peek into Ashley’s photo shoot with Modcloth. She’s wearing my brass chevron necklace with the tiny onyx triangle which are almost gone for good. Can’t wait to see the rest of the photos. Her hair and subdued but elegant make up are just beautiful.
Salty Streets Flea Market is about to start up again and the first one is June 5th 12-6 at Kilby Court. Anyone in Salt Lake should definitely make it because it’s full of amazing handcrafted goods and an astonishing selection of vintage wares at screaming deals. I’ll be sharing a space with my dearest friend Amber of Mode Clutch and her latest bags she’s been whipping up have been amazing. I’ll also have lot’s of new pieces I’ll be testing out before the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair.
I just sent an order off to White Elephant Vintage in Hamilton Ontario, a shop with a mix of handmade and vintage wares. Sounds like a lovely shop and wish I could visit the awesome places my jewelry gets to go to.
This month I was in Phoenix for a wedding and stayed with my grandma. I was showing off my new jewelry I made in my silversmith class and lo and behold the interest runs in the blood or something. These are pieces my grandma made in the 70’s from melting down silver dollars on a bunson burner. That little cuff in the upper right hand corner came home with me. amazing.
Alright I think (hope) tumblr is going to work for me better than previous attempts. ha. Here’s a quick interview from the sweet Krystal in Switzerland over at A Village Town about things that make me happy, beating people at simple card games and sisters and aspirations for things to come. There’s also a giveaway for my favorite pair of earrings right now as well over at Krystal’s blog.
